Fossil has successfully completed revision of the control strategy configuration and boiler tuning at TransAlta Energy Corporation's Poplar Creek plant located at Suncor in Fort McMurray Alberta.

The boiler controls were supplied a few years ago by another company. Now for the first time operators are able to run the boiler in automatic mode. Earlier this year Fossil supplied gas ignitors for another boiler at the same plant. Plant operators have expressed great satisfaction with the improvement to overall boiler reliability following installation of the FPS ignitors. FPS ignitors will be installed on a second boiler at this plant early in 2005.
