Tri-State - Craig Plant purchases dual fuel ignitors for third boiler

Due to the dependable performance of FPS dual fuel installed on two boilers at Craig station in 2003 and 2004, Tri-State G&T is performing the same upgrades at a third plant. The dual fuel ignitor fires light oil and natural gas, and incorporates Fossil's SunSpot flame detector and Plasma Arc Ignition (PAI) system. Fossil has also supplied skid-mounted duplex blowers, including combination motor starters, for all three boilers. The blowers supply clean cool combustion air to the ignitors to prevent flyash build-up on ignitor components, reduce maintenance requirements and enhance ignition performance.
