Consolidated Edison updates ignition systems and controls
Reliable long term operation of FPS ignition systems at Con Ed's 59th Street and Ravenswood plants has lead to the recent purchase of ignitors and controls for the utility's East River and Hudson Avenue plants. The new projects also include installation of FPS fuel and air valves, valve trains, skid-mounted redundant combustion/cooling air blowers, burner controls and main flame scanners. All of the ignitors feature the integral SunSpot flame detector and the oil ignitors at Hudson are equipped with Fossil's Plasma Arc Ignition (PAI) system.
