November 8, 2004 - The Fossil line of Aquarian Electronic Level Gauges has received certification by Lloyd's Register for meeting the requirements of the European Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC. Compliance with this directive is mandatory for pressure equipment that will be put into service in the European Union. This certification authorizes Fossil to apply the PED certification to the Aquarian products and ensures that the requirements for design, materials and manufacturing will be consistently achieved. These products are authorized for use in all countries belonging to the EU, without additional certification.
July 16, 2004 - Canadian Standards Association (CSA) approval services has witnessed extensive additional testing of our automatic valves. As a result the approved operating temperature and pressure ranges have been increased. As well, additional solenoid options were approved to allow Fossil to offer more choices in CSA approved automatic gas safety shutoff valves.
October 1 2003 - Fossil Power Systems Inc. (FPS) is pleased to announce the appointment of ETI Performance Solutions, a division of ECO-Technica Inc., of Edmonton, Alberta as our representative for the Province of Alberta.

September 8, 2003 - FPS is pleased to announce the release of our new Auxiliary Oil Burner. Our retractable oil burner was specifically designed for CE tilting nozzle, tangentially-fired boilers. This light or heavy oil burner is easily retrofitted to the burner windbox and incorporates a number of significant enhancements to deliver reliable mechanical operation, fuel ignition and a clean, stable well-shaped flame.
August 11, 2003 - FPS is pleased to announce our new and proven flame scanning technology. We can now offer unprecedented flame detection and perfect discrimination, against all opposing and adjacent burner flames on the most difficult applications.
Here are some recent examples of our success with the various burner types:
> Ultra-Low Nox Burners - 500 Mw Opposed Wall, Pulverized Coal and Natural Gas
> Low Nox Burners - 330 Mw Opposed Wall, Natural Gas and Oil
> Tangentially-Fired Boilers - 150 Mw, Natural Gas
March 10, 2002 - For the past 17 years, Fossil Steam Technologies Inc. has had the privilege of working with Yarway™ Corporation and its worldwide associates in the marketing and distribution of our Aquarian drum level products. We have enjoyed exceptional working relationships with Yarway™ personnel and we wish the very best to those who have moved on to new challenges as well as to those who have relocated to the Tyco affiliates.
We would like to thank all those at Yarway™ for their contributions towards establishing the Aquarian product (3000Classic, 3000Mini, 3000Plus, 1000Plus and Single Probe Alarm Module) as the industry standard in steam/water detection systems.
Due to changing business conditions and ownership at Yarway™, the marketing and distribution agreement with Yarway™ for this product will not be renewed. We look forward to continuing the close relationships that have been forged with our Aquarian customers. September 13, 2001 - Fossil Power Systems Inc. line of Automated Gas Valves have received CSA/CGA approval for the following standards: CGA 6.5-2000/ANSI Z21.21-2000, CGA 3.9-M94 "Automatic Safety Shut-Off Gas Valves".
This extremely robust series of automated valves are available in threaded, socket weld and flanged connections. They are manufactured using only the highest quality components to ensure safe and reliable operation throughout the lifetime of the valve.
August 5, 2001 - Fossil Power Systems Inc. introduces the Plasma Arc Ignitor (PAI) to our standard product line. The PAI system has been designed to overcome the problems of spark plug fouling and carbonization that are sometimes experienced in oil ignition applications. The PAI generates a high energy spark capable of functioning under the harshest conditions, including full immersion in an oil bath. This product has undergone rigorous in-house and field testing to ensure reliability on a long term basis.
