December 7, 2001 - Fossil Power Systems Inc. is pleased to announce the successful commissioning and startup of Ontario Power Generation’s (OPG) Nanticoke GS Unit 5. The controls, burners, and coal distribution equipment were replaced as part of OPG’s continuing upgrade at the plant.

Fossil was responsible for the design, manufacturing, supply and commissioning of the BMS, flame scanners and operator interface. The BMS was designed and implemented using the Foxboro I/A platform. This is the first of eight units to be completed in the next three years.

Phase I and II of this project, which was completed in 2000, included the supply of FPS gas ignitors, duct heaters, valve trains, and controls.
