Fossil Power Systems Inc. (FPS) is pleased to announce that we
have been awarded the contract to supply the FPS engineered DCS
Controls for the new Water Treatment Plant and the Balance of
Plant (BOP) controls, that are both associated with the new combustion
gas turbine that is being installed at Nova Scotia Powers
Tufts Cove Generating facility in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
Fossil will provide their own FPS Graphical User
Interface HMI, and engineer the Siemens-Moore APACS+ DCS hardware,
to not only perform the control, but also provide a supervisory
control interface to the new GE Turbine Controls. This interface
will be used for display, monitoring and archiving of all aspects
of the operation of this new 47.3mW Gas Turbine.
Nova Scotia Power expects the new turbine to be
on-line by May 2003.
