Oil Ignitors
FPS Oil Ignitors are available in the following
models:
- 4.5" (O.D.) – 4 to 17 MBtu/hr
- 5.6" – 4 to 17 MBtu/hr
The 4.5" oil ignitor is specifically designed
to fit into the Babcock & WilcoxTM (B&W) DRB-4Z burner
and is suitable for other applications where high heat input is
required and space is restricted.
Each oil ignitor is equipped with the FPS Plasma
Arc Ignition (PAI) system, in order to prevent spark plug
fouling and ensure long-term consistent lightoff. The reliability
of FPS Oil Ignitors is enhanced by the atomizer design. The atomizer
produces small, readily combustible droplets of oil to produce
a strong active flame which can be monitored by the SunSpot
flame detector.

Each FPS Oil Ignitor is supplied with
the following components:
• PAI power pack in a NEMA 4 enclosure.
• SunSpot flame detector with electronic
module.
• Oil hose with quick disconnect coupler
valve.
• Atomizing air hose with quick disconnect
coupler valve.
• Two (2) brass braided flex conduit
assemblies for ignitor electrical connections.
