Job Description

The successful candidate must have a post-secondary education degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Networking or other related field, with at least 5 years of relevant work experience. Exceptional computer and networking skills are essential in this role.

We require a candidate with expertise in VB scripting, C language programming and the development of custom applications. You should have competency and experience in network security within an industrial control setting, including configuration and routing of switches and firewalls and network access control. You should have strong knowledge and experience with all of the various Windows operating systems and with user and domain security administration. You will be configuring and troubleshooting various client/server applications and knowledge of Ethernet and serial based communication protocols will be required.

The ideal candidate will have experience in design, installation, programming and maintenance of industrial control and automation systems in an industrial setting. Experience around industrial process equipment and hardware, and low voltage electrical and/or electronic equipment is considered valuable.

You are expected to be available for travel within Nova Scotia approximately 1-2 weeks per month. Flexible work hours and dress are the norm and you are expected to handle your projects with little supervision. The work environment is relaxed and rewarding.

Qualifications
Engineering Degree or Computer Science Degree
Valid Canadian Passport
Valid Canadian Driver’s License
A criminal background check will be required for access to our customer sites.

Salary
Salary will be based on experience.
